Some Notes Worth Keeping

Every morning when I wake up, I get out of bed, scratch my chest, go to the bathroom, turn on the lights, turn on the shower, brush my teeth, shave, shower, dry off, dry my hair, put on deoderant, and get dressed. Always in that exact order.  While it might seem like a boring anecdote of my impending old age, it actually has a big impact on my day.

Freedom

“Freedom (n.): To ask nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing.” | The Fountainhead
Napoleon Hill. Outwit the Devil.

Happiness is achieved by helping others achieve happiness.

I am the master of my fate and the captain of my soul - Invictus.

Get your thoughts out of all thoughts of limitation. My only limitation is the one which I set up in my own mind.

Your other self will tell you what without regard to how.

Be careful what you set your heart on, for it will surely be yours -Emerson.

You are where you are and who you are because of your thoughts and your deeds.

Give me a stock clerk with goals and I'll give you a man who will make history. Give me a man with no goals and I'll give you a stock clerk. JC Penney.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

-Short term happiness/meaning

The Alchemist: Paulo Coelho

The secret to life:  to fall seven times and get up eight.

It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.

Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about their own.

The worlds greatest lie:  at some point in our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate.

When you want something, all the universe conspires to help you get it
Sustaining a brand is dependent upon change.

Value comes in how you address your customers unmet needs.

Plato: necessity is the mother of invention.

What is your favorite show: "the next one"

If your first motivation is to make money you probably won't. It should be to create something greater than you.

Listen to and learn from your customers and you will rarely go wrong.

Do what you live and love what you do.

People make a decision to be a performer because they like to perform.

Who's Got Your Back

Primary question: prove you wrong
- possibly why I never seek or accept help. It would go against me proving you wrong.

Pillars: generosity, venerability, candor, accountability.

"I want to help you"

People are afraid to ask for help but genuinely want to help. The former perceivably proves inadequacies. The latter their worth.

Trust requires venerability. If you are perceived as untrustworthy, you might be someone who is good at eluding venerable situations.
