Do You Operate with Fear or Fearlessness?

Think

Some Notes Worth Keeping

As a CEO, I see fear hold people back more than any other thing. It stops them from reaching, innovating, discovering their own abilities. How can you know where the edge is if you don’t go over it every once in a while?

Gurbaksh Chahal, serial entrepreneur and CEO of RadiumOne, sees fearlessness as one of the greatest factors of his success. He shares his views on the natural evolution of fear and its impact on our decisions in this recent article. His closing is the most important and meaningful part – “Listen to your heart. We tend to do well at the things we love, so find something you love – or learn to love what you’re doing.”

Fear and failure are inevitable. It doesn’t matter what career path or life choices you make. None of us are perfect. But, doing something that you love and you are passionate about will make you bolder and more likely to push the limits. And when you have a set-back, it will also make it easier to pick yourself up and charge forward with flags waving.

I continue to follow my passion, running a 250 person e-business consulting firm. It keeps me on the road a lot and today I got this birthday message from my son Grant as I was driving to Chicago – “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD !  I love you and i want you to have a good birthday and be proud to have made it this far in life and still driving forward with what you love. I want you to know that you're the best dad in the world and i couldn't ask for anything better of you. Thank you for everything, from the life-long lessons to taking care of me and i'll see you when you get home from your trip tonight.” Not only was it the best present I received, it shows my children see me chasing my passion fearlessly and hopefully inspires them to do the same.
