Recent Events and Town Hall Meeting: 5/9/2008
It is with deep regret that I am informing you we have reduced our staff by 5 folks today:
The current economic conditions and our pipeline just did not support these folks as future members of the team. I’ve always committed to share with you the good, the bad and the ugly. We have many positive things happening at Crown, but there are other areas of the business that simply weren’t making the grade. To that end, I’ve scheduled an all company “Town Hall Meeting” where I will review these areas and update you on the current state and future strategy of the company.
I realize this is a hard time for everybody, as I can assure you that this is not an easy period for me and the Executive Team to have to make these decisions. We believe that these reductions have now positioned us to weather the storm and come out on the other side very strong. To be sure, there are some tough times still ahead of us, but we are already starting to see the fruits of the previous re-organization, the improving economic conditions, and our increased focus on driving success in the marketplace (but I’ll save that for the Town Hall Meeting).
