Crown Goes Live with the Hub: 10/29/2007
As we continue to grow, we’ve gotten to the point that we need a virtual water cooler. A place that every Crown employee can go to share ideas, communicate and collaborate. Further, we need a centralized location for communication; a place that we all can turn to get corporate information (a hub of sorts). To that end, we go live with http://hub.crownpartners.com today.
Version 1 of “The Hub” has many features that we think will benefit you. Things like a newsfeeds, contacts (which will no longer be distributed via Excel), corporate calendar, organization landing pages, internal news, links to internal applications, and discussion forums.
My personal favorite is the Forum. It captures email from Outlook groups (like “Help”, “RACI Reviewers”, “Employees” (yes this email will show up there) and others) and allows for additional topics and conversations by thread.
You do not need VPN access to reach The Hub. You do need to log in with your network user name (firstname.lastname) and password (it stays in synch with your network password). We’re already getting great ideas for how to expand The Hub. Many of these will be slowly added to the site over time. Please use the “Forum Suggestions” if you would like to see some additional functionality.
