Dayton HQ: 10/15/2010
I want to let you all know about an article that will appear sometime next week in the Dayton Business Journal. I spoke with a reporter yesterday about our need to move to a larger corporate headquarters. Those of you who have been to the Dayton office recently know that we are very quickly outgrowing our space. I discussed the fact that we have offices in other states and will explore alternatives to a Dayton location. Many states are providing generous incentive packages for growing companies looking for corporate locations. Since we have offices in Denver and now Dallas we will explore options and incentives in those states.
The reporter asked rapid fire questions for 10 minutes and will go off and write an article. I have no idea what the final article will say and will not receive an advance copy.
Mark and I (and quite a few others) have strong ties to Ohio and our preference is to remain in Ohio. However, we have an obligation to the organization to explore all viable alternatives and make the best decision for the organization. Our sincere hope is that the State of Ohio will provide incentives that make it viable to remain in the Dayton area. However, this isn't about incentives. It is about what is the best thing for Crown and its growth.
I encourage you to have a quick conversation with someone on the Executive Team about this for additional insight...
